SLOW-PCfighter - Scan and fix your Windows Registry
If your computer is slow, there is not much you can do about it, except upgrade it or keep your operating system in a clean state. If left unattended, unused registry keys, invalid file associations and other errors will slow down any computer, no matter what hardware it uses. Fixing these issues manually is a long, difficult and risky operation. SLOW-PCfighter will detect various registry-related problems and it will fix them. After an effective scanning process, it will notify you of any issues and you can fix them by clicking a button.
Compatibility or system requirements are no reasons for concern. The software will run on Windows 2000 or higher and it will not put your hardware to the test. The setup kit is small (4.35 Mb) and the installation process will not keep you waiting too much.
The interface has a familiar layout. A series of navigation buttons, on the left part of the window, will take you to different sections, such as an overview, settings or the main scanning feature. Before starting the scan, you may choose what registry items to look for by clicking a series of check boxes. SLOW-PCfighter will scan font entries, shared DLLs, invalid class keys, shortcuts and much more.
If the software finds any errors, it will list them under a separate tab, in the same section of the interface. SLOW-PCfighter lets you choose what errors to fix by ticking their entries in the list. All the errors are selected by default and you can fix them by clicking the Repair Now button, in the window's lower right corner.
Before the program attempts to fix anything, it will automatically back up the whole registry. It is unlikely that something will go wrong, but it is always safer to have a backup, before modifying something in the Windows Registry. The created backups are listed in a separate section of the interface and you can restore one by selecting it and clicking the Restore button, beneath the list.
If you do not want to fix a specific error, you can add it to an ignore list. The list itself can be found in the Settings section. This section also contains a feature for scheduling repair tasks on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, when the system is idle and so on.
Pros:
SLOW-PCfighter's effects are noticeable. If there are any errors in the Windows Registry, the software will fix them and the computer will run smoother. The scanning process does not take long and the found errors are fixed in a few seconds.
Cons:
There is no button for selecting or deselecting all the items in the results list.
